Mathias Dendievel studied law at KU Leuven and graduated in 2014, after which he obtained an additional master in fiscality (cum laude) at KU Leuven in 2015.
He has been admitted to the bar of West-Flanders (BE) in 2015 and to the bar of Marseille (FR) in 2022.
After a year at a generalist law office, he joined the TLA law office, an internationally renowned law office focussing on transports and logistics, in 2016, where he was promoted to partner in 2018.
In 2023, Mathias is one of the founding partners of ITL Attorneys.
Mathias represents clients before courts and administrative bodies or during arbitrational procedures in Belgium, France and Luxembourg, where he assist and advises his clients in all sorts of transport & logistics related cases and regulatory issues.
In Belgium and France he leads the CMR, Multimodal, and traffic and liability departments. Next to this he represents clients during criminal proceedings in both Belgium and France. Throughout the years he has obtained a specific expertise on complex cargo- and liability disputes, waste shipments and freight forwarding.
He is accredited and experienced before the Belgian high court, in criminal matters.
From his interest and expertise in the transport & logistics sector, Mathias gives lectures to both transport and legal professionals during seminars, as well as to university students via guest lectures.
Mathias is mentioned as a key lawyer in the Legal 500 EMEA for transport, where he is referred to as: “having great client communications skills and a deep understanding of the whole range of transport legislation. He is an invaluable contact.”
He is fluent in Dutch, French and English.
